Ai

I’ve been thinking for a while that I don’t like the way the world is heading. I have suspected that our basic rights to move freely are being compromised from ‘above’ and we are being corralled into a smaller and smaller circulatory pattern.

I have even suspected that the powers that be, would prefer us to ‘stay in’ all the time so that we can be controlled and managed more effectively.

Where am I getting these thoughts from?

  • Carbon footprint.
  • Working from home.
  • Deliveroo.
  • Fewer people driving.
  • Young people not passing their driving tests.
  • Uber.
  • Parking restrictions in cities.
  • Increase in penalties for driving offences.
  • Gaming.
  • Waiting lists for restaurants.

Maybe the general population would be easier to manage and less likely to cause a fuss – if they all stayed at home, ate too many takeaways, became obese and simply did what they were told.

Maybe the world would then be less busy for the rich folk to be able to enjoy themselves more if the rest of us weren’t blocking the roads and making them queue for hours.

Not so much ‘Let them eat cake’ …but … ‘Let them use PlayStation and have McDonalds delivered’.

Artificial intelligence or ‘Ai’ is perhaps the final link in this chain of downward decrepitude. We no longer need to do menial tasks as we can have robots doing all of our jobs, giving us more time to play on the PlayStation and eat takeaway food.

Why does nobody see the end game here?

Humans will simply become redundant. Not only will they become redundant, but they will feel bloody useless as well. Why would you get up in the morning if you have nowhere to be? Why would you shower and shave if nobody is going to see you? Why bother getting dressed? Why not wear the onesie all day …nobody cares.

I’ve read enough books and seen all the movies that show Ai being a negative force for the future of mankind. Why do none of these inventor people take a step back and watch Terminator or The Creator or Blade Runner.

Nothing good is going to come from this new technology.

Maybe it’s just inevitable, maybe it’s just evolution?

Maybe we’re already redundant?
