It’s Happening Way Too Fast….

I’ve been feeling for a while like I’m on a roller coaster ride which just keeps going faster and faster.

Everything I knew or thought I knew …is being thrown out for newer, shinier technology.

I’m not a Luddite.

I embrace new stuff, mobile phones, interdoodle, wiffle, all the cloudy stuff ….I’ve taken it on board.

But it’s going way too bloody fast for me.

As soon as I get my head round one piece of technology, it’s already being binned as ‘out of date’ as the next big thing comes along.

As I say – I’m not averse to things being improved, it’s just the speed at which it’s all going that’s stressing me out – it’s like being on a hamster wheel – the faster you go – the faster you have to run to keep up…

When you buy a new car, for example, you’re committing for at least three years, if not four. There is no way your car is going to be the ‘best’ version after a year, let alone four.

The one you want is never available so you have to order it – which takes say 3 to 6 months – I can 100% guarantee that during the waiting period a newer better version will have been proposed ….putting your dream car into obsolescence.

Mobile phones – same.

Any piece of electrical equipment – tv, music, home theatre.

Mountain bikes…

Underpants…

This just leaves us all feeling a bit ‘anxious’ like everybody else knows more than I do …everybody else has the newest whatchamadoodle and I’ve got the old one….

 …and this is before Ai completely takes over.

Then we’re really screwed.
