BASIS® is an independent organisation set up at the suggestion of the UK Government in 1978 to establish and assess standards in the pesticide industry relating to storage, transport and competence of staff. It is an industry self-regulated scheme, in line with Government de-regulation policy, giving balanced and independent advice to registered distributors. It does not seek to emulate the role of any Government enforcement agency. BASIS became a registered charity in 1999.

TrustMark is the Government Endorsed Quality Scheme consumers can rely on for technical competence, customer service and fair trading practices. When you see a TrustMark logo you know that business has been thoroughly vetted and regularly had the quality of their work independently inspected to ensure consistent high quality.

The Amenity Standard is a mark of trust for the amenity industry, to give members of the public peace of mind that amenity spaces are managed in line with best practice. The Amenity Standard covers contractors who work in parks, green spaces, roads and road verges, railways, airports and other critical infrastructure as well as commercial green spaces like sports pitches and golf courses.

SMAS is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement, SSIP. They are a H&S Assessment organisation that takes great pride in professionalism, customer service and efficiency.

Working with many of the major UK housebuilders they have developed experience and expertise in new build construction but also deal with many other construction organisations.

The Amenity Assured Standard sets a benchmark of best practice methods for the control of weeds, pests and diseases in Amenity situations. Amenity Assured Standard demonstrates that our methods of operation meet the compliance criteria for achievement of weed, pest and disease control through a variety of integrated approaches. The methods respect and incorporate high regard for safety to the public, the environment and the protection of water.

JKSL are on the BASIS Professional Register which demonstrates our competency and up-to-date expertise in the rapidly changing and technically demanding agriculture, horticulture and amenity pesticide sectors.

The Property Care Assocation (PCA) is a trade association to promote high standards of professionalism and expertise within the property care sector. Invasive Weed Control membership was formed by a group of leading industry experts who have formulated strict criteria for PCA membership. The implementation and monitoring of these standards will provide assurance that members listed as experts in the control and management of invasive species, are capable of offering the highest levels of technical knowledge and practical skill.

Japanese Knotweed Solutions is the founder, Steering Group member and Full Member of INNSA (the Invasive Non-Native Specialists Association) – which is the trade body for the invasive non-native species industry. INNSA is dedicated to representing and improving standards for companies involved in controlling and eradicating invasive non-native species in the UK. INNSA requires the highest standards from all of its Contractor members, including ISO, BASIS, Amenity Assured, and meeting independent financial checks. Visit innsa.org for more information.

Constructionline is a public private partnership between the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (formerly the DTI) and Capita Business Services. As a national online database, it is the UK’s largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants. Its aim is to improve efficiencies for buyers and suppliers in the construction industry, specifically by reducing the duplication of work and administration relating to the process of pre-qualifying suppliers for construction contracts.

Safe Contractor is a national accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors, ensuring they operate in a responsible manner. Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that any company they employ complies with a safe methodology and their assessment of their contractors’ health & safety arrangements are increasingly being carried out through Safecontractor.

CHAS – the Contractors Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme is the largest and fastest-growing UK Health and Safety assessment scheme, with over 46,000 suppliers on its database. CHAS approves companies that comply with and demonstrate sound understanding of health and safety best practice.

Japanese Knotweed Solutions Ltd are accredited as a CPD course provider, offering courses with 1 CPD hour. Upon completion of the course, JKSL will provide a CPD Certificate of Attendance which delegates can use towards their formal CPD requirements for their professional body, institute or employer.

It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action, and management review.
