Job title: Operations Administrator
JKSL experience: I have worked at Japanese Knotweed Solutions since 2004 where I have gradually increased my role and I now deal with most jobs from start to finish. I have completed a safety course in carrying out risk assessments, have gained my PA1 and PA6a spraying certificate, carry a CSCS site safety certificate and in February 2009 passed my BASIS (certificate in crop protection). This year I am trying to fit in an amenity course to help with my CPD points and hopefully to learn something new in the process
Favourite part of your job: I love the fact that my job is so varied. Every day is different; I deal with suppliers, customers and give advice to members of the public who want to try and understand the law with Japanese Knotweed
Least favourite part of your job: Trying to keep up to date on Health and Safety legislation. We do gain professional advice, but it is always a good idea to try and understand the law especially when working with other contractors on site
Interests away from work: I like reading and I am also trying to get fit using the WII console (I have tried the gym and it is just too repetitive). I like snowboarding and go every year, so I am steadily getting better on the slopes
