Our team
Name: Daniel McLaughlin
Job title: Surveyor
Previous experience: Coming from a family of construction workers, I naturally ended up working for family during my weekends and school holidays. However, I quickly became aware that I wanted to pursue the more academic side of the construction or engineering industries. I have since completed my A-levels working part-time in bars/restaurants, subsequently leading onto studying at The University of Bolton. I have since completed an HND in Building Studies that has naturally progressed onto a degree in Building Surveying and Property Management, which I graduated in June 2010.
JKSL experience: 3 years +
Favourite part of your job: Being in demand and a challenging role, making Japanese Knotweed work for a client, instead of against them
Least favourite part of your job: Not owning a Porsche - note to self: "Must work harder!"
Interests away from work: Cycling / mountain biking, skiing - basically if it involves going downhill at speed, I'm your man. Also currently training for a triathlon, so I've picked up on swimming and running too
Favourite line from a film: "Keep the change you filthy animal", Home Alone - you'll be amazed how often you can use it
If I could be anywhere right now I'd be: Definitely skiing in the Rocky Mountains somewhere - that'll do for me
