Survey Department Expands
JKSL are delighted to introduce our new Surveyor, Rebecca Close.
Rebecca’s role within the survey team will involve carrying out Japanese knotweed surveys and advising the best way to treat the infestation in relation to treatment methods, costings and time scales.
Rebecca - “Before moving to JKSL, I worked for the Freshwater Biological Association by Windermere in Cumbria as a Projects Officer. I worked on a number of projects including a freshwater information portal ‘FreshwaterLife’, the Fritsch Collection (a historic collection of algal illustrations) and assisted in research projects on protected species such as Pearl mussels and White-clawed crayfish. Coming from a background of Zoology I have been making special efforts to increase my knowledge of botany, whilst carrying out protected species and habitat surveys, learning how to electro-fish and organising wildlife events to get the public involved in nature and wildlife.
Living in Cumbria, I get to enjoy the countryside and what it has to offer every weekend through horse riding, scrambling, sailing and paragliding.”
