Managing Director has first Holiday in 22 years!

As the owner of a small business I am never comfortable with the concept of ‘holidays’. You can’t possibly go away when you are busy, and you also can’t possibly go away when you are quiet – so when do you go?

Invariably – just at the moment that you have chosen to leave the country there will be a cheque overdue and a supplier that demands a payment…it is impossible to plan correctly…

So in my case I just didn’t go.

The years rolled on by, my family went away, all of my team went away, my accountant goes away, my bank manager goes away ….my car cleaner.......my barber

Everyone goes away except me….FOR TWENTY TWO YEARS.

So this is the year that my wife has decided – come what f***ing may – Mike Clough is having a proper foreign holiday.

Already the odds are stacking against me with pressure of work and pressure from cash flow and a poor economy…

BUT I’M GOING…

Anyway by the time you read this I will be back – and I will be wondering what all the fuss was about.
