The Environment
Our working methods are designed to reduce impact on the environment to a minimum. It is our intention to return the British countryside to its natural state by removing alien species, whilst causing as little damage to indigenous plants as possible.
We have been accredited with ISO 14001, which ensures that we stay aware of the key environmental issues at all times. All of our works are undertaken in accordance with The Environment Agency Code of Practice (Revised 2006), The Environmental Protection Act (1990), The Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) and The Environmental Protection Act (Duty of Care) Regulations (1991).
All team members have a keen interest in the environment, not only as an occupation but also away from work. Our staff are trained to carry out works as thoroughly as possible, whilst being aware of environmental issues. Our surveyors all have qualifications in Environmental Conservation and our site staff are fully conversant with and qualified in chemical spraying to ensure minimum impact on the environment.
Our company is keen to promote the environment and is a corporate sponsor of Lancashire Wildlife Trust and more recently the Wild Trout Trust. In addition to this, The Environment Agency are one of our key clients and we are proud to have advised and worked on several schemes throughout the country for them.
Japanese Knotweed Solutions continue to be at the forefront of new technology relating to Japanese Knotweed eradication and are currently undertaking a series of field trials to compare and contrast chemical strategies and physical strategies and alternative methods of providing barriers to prevent Japanese Knotweed re-growth.
Our Managing Director, Mike Clough holds regular seminars on Japanese Knotweed and other Invasive Weeds. The talk includes identification, current legislation and methods of control. It is hard-hitting and informative and will definitely raise awareness of JK amongst your colleagues. If you are interested in attending a seminar please click here.
